Welcome to Spirit of Carelia, an international youth camp in the heart of Finnish Karelia. During one unforgettable week, participants will experience the unique combination of Nordic nature, local traditions, and warm Lions hospitality.

🌲 Nature & Outdoor Experiences

Hiking and campfire moments at Hiitolanjoki
Berry picking in Finnish forests
Lakeside sauna and water activities
Birdwatching at the famous Siikalahti wetlands

🏛 Culture & Traditions

Visit to the unique Parikkala Sculpture Park
Traditional Karelian handicrafts and birch-bark workshop
Baking Karelian pies together
Local history and regional culture experiences

🌍 International Spirit

Country presentations by participants
Camp Olympics and outdoor games
Evening programs and shared cultural moments
Final camp celebration with host families and Lions clubs

🚆 Special Camp Day

One of the highlights will be a day trip including:

A Finnish baseball (pesäpallo) experience in Kitee
Visits to local sights in the Kesälahti region

Another cultural excursion during the week will include a train journey and exploration of historic Savonlinna and its famous Olavinlinna Castle.
